Tony Mortimer was a member and main songwriter of the 1990's UK chart-topping boy band East 17, with whom he enjoyed at least 6 top-5 singles, and 2 hit albums, between 1992 and 1997. He then left the band for a solo career after press problems following fellow member Brian Harvey's controversial comments about drugs. However, he soon faded from the spotlight.
