MARK DANIEL MERRITT (b. New London, CT 1961) is an award-winning composer and arranger. Mark has been the recipient of numerous commissions, including a commission in 2007 partially funded by the Kentucky Arts Council, to compose the score to the musical River Dreams, which had its world premiere in July of that year. River Dreams is a dramatic performance of the book, A Long Row to Hoe, the autobiography of noted Kentucky author Billy C. Clark.

Mark was a composition student of the late Dr. Henry Hallstrom, whose teachers included world renowned composers Randall Thompson and Howard Hansen. Mark’s published works are widely performed. Originally from Noank, CT, Mark now resides in Mount Airy, NC.
