Notes
- Fastest Lap: Ronnie Peterson - 1:20.31
- Driver Roger Williamson was killed in this race when his car crashed into the barriers, spun upside-down and caught fire. The race continued on with his burnt-out car still on the track. David Purley stopped his own race and tried, unsuccessfully, to save Williamson. Following that, he withdrew from the race rather than complete it. Purley was given the British Imperial George Medal for his brave action to try saving his fellow sportsman.
