This taxonomic information should be folded into wikispecies.


The traditional Ericaceae, as described here, is paraphyletic with respect to Empetraceae, Monotropaceae, Pyrolaceae and Epacridaceae. In the APG system (as used, per policy, in Wikipedia - see discussion under angiosperm) it is expanded to include these groups. Consequently the list of genera is incomplete.

Rhododendron and Vaccinium are also paraphyletic. IIRC, fixing the former causes the loss of one or two genera.
