A tag has been placed on Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 17:32, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More than one opinion was taken into account. This is a non-notable business.

A tag has been placed on Boulder Station Hotel and Casino requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. About your intentions

I see from your user page that your intent is that "any user that pulls up these categories will have a complete listing". I understand this is why you are trying to have a separate article about each and every casino you can think of, but as I've explained WP:Notability comes into play. Further, Wikipedia articles are supposed to consist of verifiable information from objective third-party reliable sources. As for your desire to produce what amounts to a complete guide, please see WP:NOTDIRECTORY and WP:NOTGUIDE, both part of the article on What Wikipedia is not. I appreciate what you're trying to do, but the guidelines were developed with the goal of making Wikipedia an encyclopedia of enduring information, not a listing of current events, a travel guide, a business directory, or anything like that. There are plenty of those on the Web; Wikipedia wasn't intended to duplicate their function. —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:28, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I should add: if any of these hotels is notable and you can update the articles to reflect this notability and meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, then you certainly ought to do so. If an article you want to improve this way has already been deleted, you can request a copy of it from an admin and can recreate it with the required evidence of notability. —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:37, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Texas and Boulder Station

Basically all new articles are going to be reviewed by editors looking to keep junk out of the encyclopedia. I know that there articles can be flushed out. When you created them as a new user, you were probably not given any of the leeway that an experienced editor would be. So they were deleted. BTW, don't delete articles when you want to rename them, just do a move. BTW, I am not well at this time and as a result may tend to be rather short and may make a few errors rushing to get caught up while I'm on for a while. You can help texas station by adding a few cites, especially from newspapers. As to the name, I selected that name since that is the name on the website if you want to send them mail. Names for most casinos can be an issue, especially if they use several. Texas Station, at work case is the common name since that is what just about everyone calls it. Vegaswikian (talk) 02:52, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Westin article also could use a few references to fix the problem there. Vegaswikian (talk) 03:06, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean about waiting for the mediation cabal before restoring Boulder Station? Vegaswikian (talk) 00:48, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plans

Glad that you have a plan. I would concentrate on adding references to the articles, that are lacking them. This would do the most good in the long run. Once you cite Texas Station and the Westin, I'll restore the Boulder article as that you can cite that one. As to McCarren not being a casino, it has an unlimited license as far as I know. It is among the largest in terms of slot machine and is the major source of revenue at the airport, excluding the concession leases. I'm leaving for the night. Postcards

Hi. Please see your Commons talk page. Note that many old US postcards may have fallen into the public domain, but if you are not the creator of the postcard you cannot claim them as your own work. Actual information is needed. Thanks. -- Infrogmation (talk) 19:08, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

McCarran International Airport

The lead does mention that there are over 1,300 slots in the airport. Adding a section with more information on the slots would be appropriate and will be required to make this a better article. If the casino operations had its own section, then the casino infobox could be added there. Vegaswikian (talk) 06:13, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have replied to your question on my talk page. Sorry for the delay in responding, I've been off-wiki for a few days. :) Somno (talk) 13:50, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
