Recurrent palmoplantar hidradenitis (also known as "Idiopathic plantar hidradenitis") is primarily a disorder of healthy children and young adults, characterized by lesions that are primarily painful, subcutaneous nodules on the plantar surface, resembling erythema nodosum.[1]: 780
