Mount Washington Alpine Resort
Opening in 1979 Mount Washington is the only Skiing resort located on Vancouver Island, its situated in the comox valley. About a 3 1/2 - 4 hour drive from the capital of Victoria.
The once flourishing mountain is now facing bankruptcy as it has not had enough snow to fully open for the last 2 seasons. On December 10th 2005 Mount Washington announced it does not have enough snow to open on schedule, making it the second consecutive year the mountain is facing bankruptcy.
Mount washington is also noted for its downhill mountain biking, and revolutionary "outback" lift.
