Since when did TOKYOPOP license the manga? I looked around their page, Anime News Network, and the Internet and I haven't seen any other site say this sort of thing. Please back up this statement with an official source (TOKYOPOP, Toei Animaton, BANDAI). 71.146.73.235 (talk) 16:13, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Article edit
(Too lazy to log into her account; thinks her old account got deleted) This article really needs a huge check. There's a lot of grammatical errors and there is really no need to add a speculation of what 4Kids will do. I believe this article is only to describe factual information and not to discuss about the fate of Doremi in 4Kids' hands, because this isn't a persuasive article and it's really not supposed to be opinionated, you know what I mean? It's supposed to describe what we know, not what we don't have a clear idea on. 71.146.67.117 (talk) 07:44, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Incorrect information
I have removed some of the cast information. Some user listed cast for "Dorie's brother", "Reanne's brother", and "Mirabelle's brother" when evidently they do not actually exist. Because this information is inaccurate and made-up, I removed it. 71.146.102.78 02:06, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Why did somebody put that in the fist place? It's SO no true!Besides,Dorie has a little sister named Caitlyn and Reanne and Mirabelle are only children!!! -Collen343 (talk) 00:10, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Merge
Lunaverse and Spell drop should be merged into the main article, Magical DoReMi. Not only do the two subarticles not meet notability criteria, but the main article is still mostly a series of lists with little content. --TheFarix (Talk) 00:58, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

your welcome for putting a magical doremi image where it should be on the magical doremi article. you must not really care about magical doremi if you can't put one picture in it's place. oy! Sir aaron sama girl 01:03, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
International Releases
I added "International Releases" to the Magical DoReMi article, considering that the series was aired in mostly all Latin America with high success. --Hayama Akito 04:02, 22 November 2006
- If you have Latin American version-specific information then please also add it to the Ojamajo Doremi series article under the Adaptions section. --Squilibob 13:49, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Merge?
I noticed that there's a seperate article for Ojamajo Doremi and one for Magical DoReMi. Should they be merged? Because if you type in Mew Mew Power, it redirects you to the Tokyo Mew Mew page, instead of seperate articles for the two.
- I added a merge tag. It's the same show, isn't it? · Tygartl1·talk· 22:13, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- They should be kept seperate, because one article expands on the show as a whole, and gives a link to each show's seasons. It's not mainly an article on season 1. Other series on wikipedia have done this when a franchies is big, which Ojamajo Doremi is, in 4 seasons plus an OVA, each giving a link to it's proper page. Think of that page as an Introduction. 71.72.38.203 15:15, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed, I oppose the merge per the above logic. "Ojamajo Doremi (series)" is on all four seasons and the OVA while "Magical Doremi," the dub name, pertains only to the first season, for the dub only lasted half of the first season. DarkAdonis255 22:34, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Opposed, There isn't a Ojamajo DoReMi (the first season) article so there should be this one. Claycrow 16:48, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
I also Oppose, the merge per the above logic. Also, Ojamajo Doremi and 4Kids' english version called "Magical Doremi" had been made into two different programs because 4Kids made major alterations to "americanize" the series. The changes they made, although only of minor effect back then, make it impossible for them to complete the series, even if Toei had let them license more of it. (in first episode alone, only 64% of the original footage remained unaltered by 4Kids. Details of the alterations can be found at Ojamajo Doremi Uncensored - Episode 1(Another fan had compared the two opening episodes)) While I don't know if the dubs into other languages, also named "Magical Doremi", were true to the original, the 4Kids english one was not. TV Rating change on DoReMi?
Is there any reason that why did somebody edited the TV rating of the Magical DoReMi from TV-Y to TV-Y7? 86.101.211.226 21:00, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out; it's probably supposed to be TV-Y. DarkAdonis255 22:08, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Doremi H.gif
Image:Doremi H.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Merge Ojamajo Doremi into this article
Someone tagged this article for merging, but I don't see the discussion in the link so starting it now. I've also added the merge tag to Ojamajo Doremi, as it was missing from there. For the idea, yes, these two articles need to be merged. There is absolutely no reason to have two separate articles about the same series and the current splits go against the anime and manga MOS. Saperate articles for each "season" are excessive and unnecessary. Collectonian (talk) 02:55, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- It appears the original Ojamajo Doremi article was split at some point. Possibly due to a content fork. I support merging the two articles, noting both the English and Japanese character names, and plot differences
and clearly maintaining additional information for seasons that have not been localized.Edit: Subsequent seasons have their own article. This current article is largely edited by one editor Wikialexdx, curious to see what he/she thinks. AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 03:29, 9 April 2008 (UTC)- So it would seem. Considering he just undid the much needed clean up, I suspect he won't like the merge suggestion. However, I'm alerting the project to this issue to ensure broader (and more neutral) opinions are voiced. Collectonian (talk) 03:56, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- He just added the removed content from this article to List of Magical DoReMi episodes I've reverted, stating the information was not appropriate for that article AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 04:24, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- I wondered what he was planning when he said he needed to copy it somewhere. *sigh* Trying to be patience since his profile would seem to indicate he's a minor... Collectonian (talk) 04:26, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've posted to his talk page about it. I'd like him to join this discussion in a substantive way though. Hopefully, he'll respond here. AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 04:29, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Additional merges
In addition to the merge above, I have tagged the individual season articles for merging back to this one. I see no reason they should have separate articles, and their current system of being apart, then having their movies separate too, totally violates the MoS. With proper clean up and sourcing, this article can hold them all quite nicely. I've also tagged the two separate character lists for merging as well.Collectonian (talk) 08:09, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Proposed massive overhaul to the Ojamajo Doremi/Magical Doremi articles
Okay, here's the scoop. I'm not very satisfied with how the current Ojamajo Doremi articles are written. This includes Ojamajo Doremi, Magical Doremi, and all of the articles for each season, etc.
My plan is to do an overhaul of the various articles pertaining to this series. I and a few of my friends are very knowledgable about this show, and these articles need to be redone. Here is what I have in mind:
1) Merge each of the seasons (Season one, Sharp, Motto, Dokkan, and Naisho) into one article. Each season has a similar overall plot, with differences only being in the finer details. These details can be included in the main article where each season would have its own section.
2) Base names, places, magical items, etc off of the Japanese names and use other Japanese conventions regarding the show. The article would be Ojamajo Doremi (Not Magical Doremi, although Magical Doremi could redirect to it).
3) Use standard MoS of course with Plot, Characters, Production, etc sections. Also include a short section that lists the various dubs of the show, the name and language of the dub, and who dubbed it. For Characters, there could also be a link that covers the large cast of characters in more detail, and also include English dub names for the characters on said list.
4) As mentioned at the end of 3), make a seperate article containing a list of characters from the show.
5) Make an article containing a list of episodes, sorted by season.
Information on here is subject to change of course. Keep in mind, I am not very familiar with Wikipedia's standards for editing articles like this, I am only doing this to help improve the Ojamajo Doremi articles, and I want a general consensus on if this is a good idea or not. This post will be posted in both the Ojamajo Doremi article and the Magical Doremi article. Thank you. PsychicKid1 (talk) 18:57, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Unless there is a general consencious, this is not going to happen. For one I'm ,opposed to this merger, simply because the series is very lengthy, and would require alot of information removed. Second, if the articles need improved, just edit the original articles. 18:15, 26 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mendinso (talk • contribs)
- Agreed: I agree to this merger because if you make articles for the other series, they'll just be stubs. I think we can incorporate all plot into just one page. Blackarcadia (talk) 02:46, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
change the name of the article
the name should be Ojamajo Doremi season 1 "magical doremi" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.42.75.70 (talk) 16:48, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
opposed The original name of this series first season, dating back to February 1999, was "Ojamajo Doremi". Combining the original and the dub names as suggested, besides causing confusion with the drastically-different english adaptation by 4Kids that they called "Magical Doremi" (broadcast in their 2005 season), would also create difficulties for those attempting to look it up by either the original or by the dub name.
The original, created by Toei Animation of Japan, consisted of 201 episodes, 2 movies, and a 13-episode OVA.
The firm that gained english dub rights, 4Kids, only licensed the first 51 of those, but released only 50 (The missing one was episode 30, "I want to meet a ghost"). Of those 50, only 26 were broadcast (the remainder were released as streaming-video from their web site, limited to only USA IP addresses).
4Kids chose to make major alterations to the show to "americanize" it. The hurculean task of documenting those "americanizations" is a major reason I am also strongly opposed to attempts to merge the articles. Ojamajo Fan Jim (talk) 08:31, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed: I agree with this because "Magical DoReMi" is the licensed English name, therefore we should use it according to Wikipedia's guidelines. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(anime-_and_manga-related_articles)#Article_names_and_disambiguation) Since "Magical DoReMi" is the most common English name, we should use it. Whether or not 4Kids made it "different" is up to you, but you can't deny that they're not the same show. Blackarcadia (talk) 02:45, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
