Willie King date of birth
Dear Chuckiesdad
There was some confusion when WIllie King died about his birth date. Having worked very closely with him during the last few years of his life, including having a copy of his birth certificate, the facts are that i) his birth certificate gives his date of birth as 25 March, 1943 and ii) he always celebrated his birthday on 18 March, saying he was born a few days earlier than his birth certificate stated.
I note that the New York Times reference now says Mr. King died at 65. My guess is that somehow "8" and "18" got confused and once the rumor started it was hard to stop.
Thank you for your work on this page - Willie was great musician and outstanding human being. --Rasherson (talk) 06:07, 26 July 2009 (UTC)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Rasherson (talk • contribs) 05:57, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your insight on this, Rasherson. Why don't you post what you said here to the article Talk Page where others can see it? There's already a discussion there about the lack of evidence for his birth date, and I think this takes care of it. I'll add a reference in the article citing his birth certificate. Best regards, Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 14:55, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! I've updated the Talk Page as you suggest. Your help is much appreciated. Rasherson (talk) 23:58, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
McCumber Cube - Motivation subsection
I am a new user. Just wanted to understand why you deleted my section from the McCumber Cube page Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.189.232.113 (talk • contribs) 14:32, 26 September 2009
- Thanks for contributing! That's a good question. The last line of the section you added was: Copyright © 2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR . Wikipedia guidelines don't allow the addition of copyrighted material without permission. I've moved the section to the article's talk page in case you want to pursue permissions from the copyright holder, or rework it, then add it back to the article. I should have done that initially. Regards, Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 15:32, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for explaining the reason. I reworded it and posted again. Please let me know, whether it looks alright. Thanks again for helping. Regards.
- Much better. Next step is to add internal references to the article to cite the facts. I've added a couple of standard sections at the bottom, and moved some of the links into the appropriate sections. Regards, Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 20:02, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi Chuckiesdad,
I recently updated State Senator Shawn Mitchell's bio with accurate information and many references. He recently has come under fire regarding some remarks he made. It keeps getting removed from the bio by another user and being new here I don't understand if that is allowed or if I'm allowed to post the truth or what the story is. I do want it to stick. My goal is to make sure the truth about this man is on his bio. I've been trying to read about Wikipedia and their rules but I don't yet know how to communicate with the other user who is removing the entry. I did receive a warning and I don't want to jeopardize my membership in the Wikipedia community as I think it's a great tool for the truth.
Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks for your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eyeonyou (talk • contribs) 17:54, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hello Eyeonyou, welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for contributing. Once an edit to an article has been reverted (changed back) by another editor, it's time to discuss it on the article's Talk page rather than continuing to undo each other's changes. The goal is consensus, not edit warring. You can post to the article Talk page just like you posted here, and also to the other editor's Talk page inviting they join the discussion. You can see other editors on the article's Revision History page. If that fails, you can go to the New Contributor's Help Page and post a request for assistance from a neutral editor. There's a button there called Click Here to Ask Your Question. You can also post the issue on your own talk page with the {{helpme}} tag, which will attract another editor offering assistance and advice. Happy editing! Hello chuckiesdad...my old account, onsetcloud, was not controlled by me at the times it made those edits. can you please reset my strike count or something? The pages my friends edited, including Trobone Trouble were not intended by me to be vandalized, and i really didnt want to start a new account. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cloudonset! Future Ads entry
Hello, I am new to Wikipedia, and tried to post a new entry for a company called Future Ads. It received a Speedy Deletion warning, and I wanted to see what I can do to rework the article to make it suitable for your / Wikipedia's guidelines. I thought it was all pretty neutral, and there were mentions of awards and positive claims about the company, but I feel they were all properly cited and referenced. I completely respect the Wikipedia rules, and would love some assistance with reworking this article. Many thanks!! Mwebbcom (talk) 03:57, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking. There were two issues with the article that were contrary to Wiki guidelines, as I noted on your talk page: advertising and conflict of interest. The article was a promotional piece in tone and content. It probably could have been salvaged with a rewrite, although I'm not sure whether it would pass the notability test. The more serious problem was conflict of interest, since you apparently represent an agent of Future Ads, according to the last line of this press release. Wiki guidelines don't allow autobiographical articles about individuals or companies by their subjects, agents or related entities. Regards, Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 19:41, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Hello again, Thanks for the message. Would it be possible to have you write up the entry? Or, may I submit a request to have it written by an editor? If I pose a conflict of interest, then, is there a place where I can suggest this entry be added? I think the company is worth review to see if it passes the notability test as the company has received enough coverage, and won business awards, etc. I'd love some more guidance on what steps I am able to take. Thanks again. Mwebbcom (talk) 02:58, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Mwebbcom, good questions. There is a place to post a request for an article at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Business and Economics/Businesses and Organizations. However, it can take a long time for someone to respond there. Instead, I would recommend reading the post at Wikipedia:Drawing board#Luggage Forward which is a similar situation to yours. Then go ahead and draft the Future Ads article yourself in your user space, in a sandbox like User:Mwebbcom/Future Ads. Then post to Wikipedia:Drawing board (where it says Click Here to Start New Discussion) stating your situation and relationship to the subject, and asking for feedback on your sandbox article. Other editors will respond and let you know if it's ready. Best regards, Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 04:48, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks again Chuckiesdad. I appreciate your help. If you have a second to reply, how would you have changed / reworked the write up of the entry? You say above that it probably could have been salvaged with a rewrite, so what would you have done differently? I am just trying to think in Wiki terms. Thanks again!! Mwebbcom (talk) 22:29, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
- Think encyclopedia. As I mentioned above and on your Talk page: the article reads like an ad, not like an encyclopedia entry. I see the article has been moved to your userspace so you can work on it. I would recommend: 1. Read WP:ORG. 2. Read WP:AUTO. 3. Read some of the featured articles that represent the best of Wikipedia, especially in the Business section. 4. Edit your draft according to these guidelines and post a request for review at WP:Drawing board. Happy editing, Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 02:46, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Creech AFB
What is wrong with the sentence that I added? It wasn't POV (but I can see how the part about "perpetrating drone attacks" is). It didn't refer to protests, it referred to multiple organizations (linked to by that Nevada Desert Experience page, which served as a portal to other critical articles) that criticized the use of Predator and Reaper drones. I found it better to link to that one page than to add links to all the pages that the portal page linked to. I didn't even mention protests. Ein Spiel (talk) 18:14, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- For the external link, see WP:ELPOINTS #2. For the content, see the last paragraph in the History section, there's a Wikilink to Nevada Desert Experience and an external citation to Voices for Creative Nonviolence. My edit note should have said 'criticism' instead of 'protest'. If you want to add more content about criticism, it would fit better under History or even in a separate section rather than in the lead. Yes, "perpetrate" definitely holds a POV. BTW, I agreed with your edit that removed the mission statement, it was POV in the other direction. Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 19:17, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you. Is it alright if I add the sentence in the "History" section? Ein Spiel (talk) 20:37, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Chuckie,
The page of clairgnosis was deleated. I made the change necessary. The page was put up for deletion. There is no advertising as the book mentioned and deleated in not in print any longer. The term is used often and in the practice of energy medicine and teaching of energy medicine. Without the term in Wikipedia you are at a disadvantage. I have personally used it in many published articles.
Just trying to keep the world up information of the alternative practices. Shealyhealy (talk) 03:55, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- Please see the Articles for Deletion nomination for the article's shortcoming - it's a neologism with no reliable sources about the term. The key to notability lies in sources about the subject, not just mentioning the term. Regards, Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 15:36, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi Chuckiesdad,
I have reviews the post and added/removing some content based on suggested Wikipedia guidelines. The page is pretty clean now. We have a lot of interesting concepts to communicate on this page, but I am going to hold on to your feedback. Our user community is growing and many suggested to put up a Wikipedia page. I would appreciate any pointers.
Warmest Regards Macroellen (talk) 00:03, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
