The Lonely Island
The Lonely Island is made up of three friends from Berkeley, CA. They are known collectively as "The Dudes".
They currently operate a website called “The Lonely Island” which showcases numerous comedic films and shorts. They have made three full length pilots, although all have been rejected (to date). The episodes are named "White Power" (the Dudes get addicted to tooth whitener), "Regarding Ardy" (Ardy breaks his pinkie, Akiva and Jorm try to find him a new one), and "Awesometown" a skit program showcasing their numerous sketches. Their shorter sketches include: The Legend of Anders Pants, Perfecto, and a deleted scene of Vanilla Sky.
They also made a parody of The O.C. titled The 'Bu, starring the Dudes and an animated talking squirrel named Frazzles. The ‘Bu was made for the competition website Channel 101.
They have also made numerous rap songs and videos under the name Incredibad. Incredibad has done such songs as "Ka-Blamo", "Just 2 Guyz" and "Stork Patrol".
Their site also includes a blog from the unofficial fourth member, Chester Tam. The blog, titled "Chez Chat", gives humorous summaries of the site's updates.
Members of the Lonely Island
The three official members of The Lonely Island are Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone. They all grew up in Berkeley, California and met in Junior High School. After High School they went separate directions. Akiva ended up majoring in film at UCSC, Andy started going to UCSC and ended up going to New York University (NYU) film school, and Jorma got a degree in theater from UCLA.
Andy Samberg has been the most publicly active member of the group. He has appeared on Premium Blend as well as Arrested Development to date. Currently he is on Saturday Night Live.
Akiva Schaffer is primarily the director of the group. He also directed two music videos for the Indie Rock group “We are Scientists”. Currently he is a writer for Saturday Night Live.
Jorma Taccone has gotten work outside of The Lonely Island as a model for World Series Poker. Currently he is a writer for Saturday Night Live.
Chester
The fourth and unofficial member of The Lonely Island is Chester Tam, often referred to as Chez. Very little is known about how Chester fits into the Lonely Island equation but he is often seen as a fan favorite due to his "Chez Chat" section on The Lonely Island website. It is believed that Chester works for Law and Order.
