Baddha Koṇāsana The Sanskrit word baddha means a bond, chain, caught or restrained; kona means corner or angle . This asana is also known as the Cobbler pose or the Bound Angle pose after the typical sitting position of Indian cobblers, is an excellent groin- and hip-opener. It is one of the few postures that can be practiced comfortably soon after eating and may be therapeutic for flat feet, high blood pressure, infertility and asthma.[citation needed]
