Was the idea of slashing a sole with a razer invented for a 1935 shoe by Mr Sperry? I thought it was just a bit of folk knowledge that lots of people on boats had probably found out for themselves, and the footnote is to a shoe company called Sperry. If anyone knows for sure this would be good to change.
