The Journal of Medical Internet Research is a peer-reviewed open access medical journal founded in 1999 covering eHealth and "healthcare in the Internet age", edited and published by Gunther Eysenbach. The journal is widely regarded as one of the pioneers in open access publishing.[1][2] According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2009 impact factor of 3.324, ranking it second out of 23 in the category "Medical Informatics" and 2nd among 69 journals in the category "Health Care Sciences & Services".
