- Sorry, but why did you send me this? --77.49.154.248 (talk) 17:43, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- The multiple unsourced template additions you made and I removed. Please don't. --John (talk) 17:48, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, you mean the Grand Master of the Priory of Sion. Well it isn't unsourced if you go to the Priory of Sion article you will see that this is the "official" list of Grand Masters. I am not one of those who believe that the Priory trully exists. I simply wanted to include this stuff about those people to their articles. If you check page history you will see that I didn't write "Grand Master". I actually written ALLEGED Grand Master. Really, where am I wrong?--77.49.154.248 (talk) 18:05, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- We cannot use Wikipedia as a source. To include this material we would need third-party sources and consensus that the material is worth including. --John (talk) 18:16, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- OK, if you don't want it in your talk page answer in mine. If you don't want to discuss it let me know but, please, say something.--77.49.154.248 (talk) 18:17, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- I did, just above. It's much easier to keep conversations together to be able to follow them, so just reply here please. Thanks. --John (talk) 18:26, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
OK
Well, if a book is a source for an internet encyclopedia then, yes I have two sources.
- Dossiers Secrets d'Henri Lobineau from Pierre Plantard
- The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail from Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln
Look, those two books are hoaxes but in this case we don't want a source about "if those people were G.M. of the Priory" because we know that they weren't. We want a source ab out "if Plantard claimed that they were" and those books are perfect.--77.49.154.248 (talk) 18:26, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- An acknowledged hoax may not be the best source. I suggest at this point continuing to discuss in article talk. --John (talk) 18:29, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Succession box for alleged Priory of Sion Grand Masters
Regardless of the sources used, I do not think it is appropriate to created and add a succession box for alleged Priory of Sion Grand Masters in Wikipedia articles about historical figures since the Priory of Sion has been debunked as a hoax. --Loremaster (talk) 18:40, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
I know why the discussion started. However, although he is correct that your work needs to be sourced to the The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, the real issue, as I explained, is that the succession box you created is inappropriate, in my opinion. That being said, if you intend on contributing directly to the article at some point, I suggest you create a user account since it is extremely useful for an editor (such as giving him the ability to more easily watch over pages he is interested in) but it also contributes to a culture of accountability on Wikipedia. Despite the fact you will probably use a pseudonym, it's easier for other editors to discern your motivations when a track record of contributions is attached to your user account. Lastly, this discussion can and should take place on the Talk:Priory of Sion page instead of our respective personal talk pages. --Loremaster (talk) 18:51, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
