April 14, 2006-I chose the name "The Great Honker" because of my dual interests in Ancient Egypt and waterfowl, particularly geese (also, it seems appropriate for discussion pages...). The Great Honker, by the way, was the primordial goose in Ancient Egyptian mythology that produced the first sound and paved the way for the creation of further life. My interests include ancient Greece, especially Athens, which is named after my favorite Greek goddess (Athena), and as my username would suggest, Ancient Egypt, and, also as my username would suggest, geese. Oh, and during the summer I do some philately.

For internet safety reasons, I won't reveal my real name but I will say that I live in the center of Davis, California (near Sacramento), with my father, mother, 3 cats (Pippin, Orion, and Tiger), Tiger being the only male, two geese (Jacques Gousteau and Jeannette Peepin), one male and one female, two female ducks (Sunny and Mrs. Thompson), two female rabitts (Hess, short for Hestia and Kwan Yin, one male aquatic turtle (Huck, short for Huckleberry Finn), and one land turtle of unknown gender(Minotaur).

May 7, 2006-A couple days ago, we got another aquatic turtle! This one's female, and Huck seems happy. She's also really, really big, about one-and-a-half to two times the size of my hand! Because of her dark colors and hunting (she took a bite out of one of the goldfish in our backyard pond), she seems somewhat menacing, and so I named her Hecate.
