Professor Hans-Peter Seidel is a computer graphics researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science and Saarland University. In February 2003 Seidel was awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, the most prestigious German research award from the German Research Foundation (DFG). Seidel is the first computer graphics researchers to receive this award. He graduated with a PhD in Mathematics from Tübingen University in 1987.
