Romain Amalfitano (born 27th of August 1989 in Nice) is a French footballer who plays for English club Newcastle United FC in the English Premier League . He plays as an attacking midfielder and is the younger brother of Morgan Amalfitano who currently plays for Marseille.[1] The younger Amalfitano previously played for Châteauroux, Evian and Reims before joining his current club, Newcastle United on a five-year contract.[2]

Amalfitano agreed to join Newcastle at the end of the current season for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.1 million. He was quoted as saying: " I am very pleased to be joining such a prestigious club as Newcastle, and i can't wait to wear the black and white stripes and of course, meet the silver, multi-forum fox that is, @Sewelly."
