Josh Groban's future plans

I reverted your recent edit at Josh Groban because the material involved a prediction from the future. Please see Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. We can't put into the biographies all the plans and promises made by a person on some talk show. It is just not worth an entry into the biography, until the album actually comes out. Otherwise, you could enter a theoretical statement by Groban that he is planning to read David Copperfield this weekend, in honor of the 200th anniversary of Dickens' birth! RE: Score

I'm having trouble understanding what you're saying. What "score"? And what does RIAA's certifications have to do with how much this album sold? Certifications by the RIAA are an indication of demand rather than individual sales. Where in the RIAA citation does it say "1 million sold"? After an album sells a certain amount, retailers request more copies to sell, thereby amounting the number shipped to however much the certification implies: gold for 500,000 shipped to them, platinum for 1 million, etc. The list of music recording certifications clarifies which countries/recording organizations use sales of the album or shipments to retailers as their basis for certifications. These certifications are merely used as awards for the artists and record labels. If some users edit articles and cite an RIAA certification as how much an album sold, then that is original research and they are mistaken, which is not verifying the sales, but something similar to it. Billboard uses Nielsen SoundScan, a sales tracking system, while RIAA does not. Dan56 (talk) 17:52, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
