Filipe Manuel Nunes Cândido (born 28 September 1979 in Lisbon) is a retired Portuguese footballer who is the current manager of UD Sousense.
Career
Filipe Cândido started his youth career at Sporting CP. He spent there 6 sucessesful years before joining Real Madrid U19 squad where he ended his youth career. After just one season he return to Portugal to play for Vitória Setúbal without making a real impact on the club. He spent the next years without match the expectations of his youth career or create impact at the clubs that he passed by:Salgueiros, Felgueiras, Leça and Académico Viseu. In 2005 he went to South Korean K-League side Bucheon. This was short lived as he returned to portuguese team Imortal soon after. After concluding 2005/06 season on this side he went to Bulgaria to play for A PFG side Lokomotiv Sofia. Once again his stay at as a foreign was short. However shortly after leaving Bulgaria he signed for Greece club Kavala here he stayed for the remainder of 2006/07 season. The he return to Portugal on permanent basis as he ended up playing for Vila Meã and Lusitânia before signing for the last club of his playing career Sousense where he spent two years.
International career
He was selected to play for Portugal U20 in FIFA World Cup in 1999 for Portugal. He played two games on the starting eleven and having 97 minutes in all competition as Portugal reached the last sixteen. He had a game for the Portugal U21 side.
Management
At the end of 2012/13 season, after spent two seasons with Sousense and start management at the same club. In his last season as a footballer he had already trained U-10 players in Sousense's academy Estrelinhas do Douro.
