Sam Winchester

SAMUEL “SAM” WINCHESTER

Sam is a character in The WB TV show called Supernatural. This character is played by 23 year old Jared Padalecki.

He is best described as the reluctant warrior. It is noted his brother Dean nicknames him "Sammy" which he responses:

SAM: “You know, Sammy is a chubby 12-year-old...it’s Sam.” – "Pilot"

When Sam was only six months old, his mother Mary Winchester was killed in his nursery, and had to be carried out by his older brother Dean (27 year old Jensen Ackles) whilst their father John Winchester went back to attempt to rescue Mary.

22 years later, the same demon kills Sam’s girlfriend Jessica Moore, which spurs Sam’s motivation to find the creature and destroy it. Whilst Sam and Dean both are searching for their father, John Winchester who is currently missing in action (but occasionally contacts the boys to leave new missions to complete) the boys constantly are fending off mystical creatures such as Woman In White the Wendigo, the mystical Bloody Mary, and Shapeshifters to name a few.

NOTABLE EPISODES ABOUT SAM:

PILOT: Sam Winchester’s (Jared Padalecki)older brother Dean (Jensen Ackles) shows up in the middle of the night and announces to Sam that their dad, John,(Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is missing on a supernatural hunt and hasn’t been home since 4 days and needs his help. NB: Almost to the end of the episode, Sam’s girlfriend Jessica was killed by the demon that killed the boys’ mother 22 years ago.

BLOODY MARY: Once Sam faces the legendary Bloody Mary, he gained bloody tears due to a hidden secret.

HOME: Sam has a recurring vision-nightmare about the boys’ childhood home in Laurence, Texas. Mary, the boys’ mother appears to the boys as a spirit and apologises to Sam for leaving him to attack the nasty spirit that had attacked the current people that owned the Winchester boys’ childhood home.

FAITH: A despondent Sam, spurred by fear of Dean dying searched desperately for a way to save his brother and believed he may have found an answer through a preacher who claims to heal the incurable.

NIGHTMARE: Sam has a premonition in which a man is killed, and shows signs of telekinesis.

NB: Dean called Sam “Haley Joel” which meant Haley Joel Osmont, the child actor from the movie The Sixth Sense – Osmont’s character had the gift to see dead people.
