GOLAZ is a Russian bus manufacturer. Its "Golitsynsky Bus Plant" is located in the Odintsovsky Districtof Moscow region].
History
The Golitsyn bus plant was launched in 1990, in collaboration with "Mercedes-Benz AG". Its first model was launched in July 1990. Since 1995, the plant has been mass-producing city buses. In 2000, Golitsyn bus plant became part of the largest machine-building holding "GAZ Group" (formerly "RusPromAvto"), the merger groups the major bus manufacturers and automotive equipment manufacturers in Russia.
Since 2014 the plant will be redeveloped on the production of agricultural machinery, production of buses will be transferred to LiAZ .
Reception / Awards
GOLAZ buses are repeatedly awarded with a number of medals and diplomas at Russian exhibitions. Among them GOLAZ-4244 model, which received the title of "Best Domestic Bus 2002 in Russia." In August 2003 GOlAZ received a special prize for the creation of a bus "Cruise".Its flagship model GolAZ AKA-6226.Bus model has received the title of "Russian".
