Mount Tabor High School is a high school located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and is part of the WS/FC School System. Mount Tabor currently has a student population of about 1,800 9th through 12th grade students, and is currently a North Carolina 4A school. The Mount Tabor Report Card can be found here, and shows that Mount Tabor is far above district standards.

Athletics

Mount Tabor High School excels in many sports especially Soccer, Wrestling, Track, and Football, and has many state championships in these sports. Students can participate in any sport for a small equipment fee, but may have to "try-out" for larger teams. The full list of Mount Tabor's Athletic programs includes: Baseball, Lacrosse, Basketball, Soccer, Cheerleading, Softball,Cross Country, Swimming, Field Hockey, Tennis, Football, Volleyball, Golf, Wrestling,Track, and Marching Band.

Achievements

  • Mount Tabor is ranked as #516 at Newsweek out of the top United States high schools. It is also the home of the Dorian Scroll. Mount Tabor recently had two state champion wrestlers and a 103 lb. wrestler that is #1 in the nation.

Alumni

  • J-Mee Samuels - Ranked #1 sprinter in the country by Track & Field News in 2005, 19-year old national high school record in the 100-meter dash at 10.08 seconds, 5 time NC State Champion, 4 Time National Champion. Recently, however, J-Mee was caught by University of Tennessee officials giving a urine sample that was not his own in a recent drug test, raising concerns as to the validity of past accomplishments.
