Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. Please answer these questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
A: Organisation of categories and discussion and debate about the topic of 'Notability' for geographic features on Wikipedia. I support the notion that even though a geographical article has no information other than statistics and data indicating that the feature physically exists, it is notable due the fact that helps prevent disambiguation. I have encountered countless islands which have been called up to 3 different names on various sites (Google Maps, Bing Maps, OpenStreet Maps) and I seek to create articles for them so fellow editors have a platform to thoroughly discuss their independent research of the islands. I believe, even if an island is nothing more than a small rock, it still requires a platform for discussion. For instance, if Wikipedia subsequently pretends the small rock-island does not exist, there will not be an opportunity for disambiguation, regional classification and geological classification.
2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
A: Promoting the disambiguation of the world's islands, especially those with multiple, disputed or ambiguous names. At the moment I am trying build articles for all islands called "Smooth Island" around the world.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: A couple of my articles were new nominated for RFD while I was working on them. This initially caused me stress but I soon learned that the Wikipedia community adopts a very diplomatic and reasonable discussion of RFD. In the end I used the RFD discussion as a motivator to refine and improve articles. During the process I began to feel that there are some weaknesses, or rather ambiguity, with the notability criteria for geographical articles. I hope to become an administrator to participate fully in the discussion and review of protocols about geographic notability and protocols about other geographic matters.
