Spartans can also evade, and elites can also sprint.

Edit request from K1ll8 saurav on Dec 23, 2010

In the "Multiplayer" section, Generator Defense is no longer a competitive game mode but now a Firefight mode. Generator Defense was available during the beta (May 3, 2010 start date).

In the "Plot" section, the post-credits narration isn't by Cortana, but by Dr. Halsey. Cortana is based off of Dr. Halsey, and thus have the same voice (and voice actor). However, turning on subtitles reveal that it's actually Halsey. — Preceding unsigned comment added by K1ll8 saurav (talkcontribs) 00:25, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Typo in First Sentence of 3.1 (Development, Design)

{{Edit semi-protected}}

There is a grammatical error in the first sentence of 3.1:

"one group began working on an standalone expansion project" should be "working on a standalone expansion project"

1. Clearly written, in good prose with correct spelling and grammar

Lead
  • "...moving more than 3 million units its first month..." - Spell out numbers one through ten, except in some cases.
Gameplay
  • "When the energy shield is depleted, the player character's health takes a hit..." - Consider revising to "When the energy shield is depleted, the player character loses health..."
Multiplayer
  • "When a player dies all their accumulated skulls are dropped as well." - Consider adding commas after "dies" and "dropped".
  • ""Invasion" is a six versus six mode with 3 squads of two..." - Spell out the number.
  • "Elites vie for control of territories to disable a shield guarding a navigation core; once the shield is disabled..." - Consider ending the first sentence at core, and beginning the next sentence at "once".
  • "As the game progresses, new vehicles, and areas of the map become open." - Consider removing the second comma.
Plot
  • "He rams his ship into a Covenant mobile assault platform" - Consider adding in the name of this platform: Scarab. Suggested edit: "He rams his ship into a Covenant Scarab (a mobile assault platform)"
  • "Six assists with the evacuation of the city's civilians; Kat is killed by a sniper." - Consider revising to "Six assists with the evacuation of the city's civilians. During this procedure, Kat is killed by a sniper."
  • "...Halsey shows Noble Team an ancient Forerunner artifact that she believes is key to winning the war." - Consider adding "the" before "key".

Multiplayer beta
  • "Bungie's previous multiplayer beta for Halo 3 had drawn 800,000 players; while more than..." - Consider replacing the semicolon with a comma.
  • "...while more than 3 million copies..." - Spell out the number.
  • "...estimating between 2 and 3 million." - Spell out the numbers.
  • "Due to development schedules, the code players experienced was already six weeks old, with several bugs and issues had already been addressed internally, but would still be an issue in the beta." - This sentence is confusing and should be rewritten.
  • "Bungie used the beta to fix mistakes, glitches, and change the balance of gameplay elements;..." - Consider replacing the semicolon with a period.
  • "...from emails, notes and forums was more difficult." - Consider adding a comma after notes.
Release

  • I see no problems here. Citations all look fine.

3. Without original research

  • No problems here.

4. Broad in coverage

  • No problems here.

5. Written from a neutral point of view

  • I was expecting to see at least a little promotional talk in this article, but I saw none. No problems here.

6. Stable, with no ongoing edit wars

  • Some vandalism, but the article is semi-protected. Looks fine to me.

7. Compliant with image use policy

  • There are only three images. These images look good, but I think this article could be a bit better if it had a couple more images. Could a couple more images be provided?

Defiant Map Pack and IGN AU review

{{edit semi-protected}} Please add the review of IGN AU, they gave Halo: Reach a 9/10 [1] IGN also reported on February 14, 2011 that the Defiant Map Pack will be released in March 2011 [2] --114.250.30.125 (talk) 07:07, 15 February 2011 (UTC) good idea and i just bet u cant beet me on easy[reply]

Not done. The article has a whole big section on "Reception". The "Downloadable content" section mentions the upcoming Defiant Map Pack. More will likely be said about it when it officially launches. Banaticus (talk) 00:21, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Emile is impaled by an energy sword wielded by a Sangheili in "The Pillar of Autumn", who he manages to kill with his Kukri soon after. He then dies.-- OsirisV (talk) 00:01, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT REQUEST: Incorrect Credits

There are some names listed in the credits sidebar under design that don't belong. Specifically, Daniel Jack, Tyler Nickles, Dante Dabbicco, and Logan Ridge. They're not in the credits and do not work for Bungie.

Marcus Lehto was the Creative Director, but we'd prefer to simply have this section removed since we had over a hundred talented people credited on Halo: Reach, and feel that they all should share in the credit (and that listing them would present a small problem in and of itself).

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Officialbungie (talkcontribs) 19:07, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deaths of Noble Team

So; this is a shot in the dark, and I am not sure if anyone will even see this, but anyways, to the point. I have noticed that throughout Halo: Reach`s

Campaign mode, all of NOBLE team is killed off. However, on Bungie.net, there has been numerous forum debates over if certain NOBLE team members are actually dead. Such as the debate I saw, whereas One of the Characters, Jorge, threw your character off a ship and sacrificed himself to start a bomb to blow up a Alien Carrier (Ship) Now, there was a HUGE debate to numerous attempts to try and debunk Jorge`s death, such as his Spartan suit and helmet giving him oxygen.

I found it actually somewhat pathetic how these Bungie community members bickered over this, like children. (although, nowadays, they could be, with what kids have access to) Back to my point. These Gamers may be right. However, some have proved that certain NOBLE team members are DEAD. Kat is dead because her shields did not activate as soon as she put her helmet on. Emile is dead because he was stabbed. But, characters like Jun, we cannot be sure, as he flew off with Dr. Halsley. (However, most, like me, believe he is)

I just wanted people to take this into consideration. This is my first post. I hope you can see my point.

We don't really deal with speculation. As it is, official materials clearly say all of them died on Reach save for Jun, who escorted Halsey, but his fate isn't made clear in the game so it's left out. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 17:15, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You were wrong about some bits, anyway >.> The entire corvette was sent into slipspace and was therefore intact, allowing Jorge to survive until the Covenant fleet in slipspace decides whether or not to board the ship. Kat's shields had nothing to do with her helmet - the radiation from the nearby glassing (90 million roentgens!) stopped the team's shields from working.-- OsirisV (talk) 22:42, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
At least this Kat one was better than the previous "she forgot to turn her shields on" edit.-- OsirisV (talk) 22:48, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

sorry guys, guess i didnt pay enough attention to all the differing facts and proven points. but im glad i got a response at least. and with the kat thing, it was under my intention that when she had placed her helmet on, her shields did not activate correctly. which makes sense, as the radiation from the glassing disabled them. ah well. im glad i even got a response from the trash i wrote above there ^^ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zack Ternan (talkcontribs) 01:59, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To-do

For myself, or anyone else:

  • Rewrite and source gameplay
    • Campaign-specific details? Achievements? Where does character customization come in?
  • Development
    • Flesh out all sections
  • Reception
    • Add another paragraph or so of content?
  • Copyedit and verify/archive all links

Edit request from 75.149.61.154, 30 March 2011

Synopsis

Setting and characters Reach takes place in a futuristic science fiction setting during the year 2552, shortly before the events of the 2001 video game Halo: Combat Evolved,[12] and during the events of the 2010 novel Halo: The Fall of Reach.

its is really a 2001 novel not 2010

Edit request from 63.131.200.159, 5 September 2011

I have noticed that the current worldwide sales of Halo: Reach are not currently listed under the "Sales" section of the articles. Therefore, I simply suggest to include the information, that is has currently sold 8.64 Million units as of September, 2011. The source for this information may be found on the common VGCartz website, on the link: http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/35024/halo-reach/

Adding info

Hello I am new to actually editing Wikipedia but, I contribute alot to the Halo Universe and I have had the fortune to talk to Bungie and 343i I was wondering if I can upload multiplayer pictures/ I can try and help out with anything. Thanks, TWD26 — Preceding unsigned comment added by TWD26 (talkcontribs) 14:20, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Invasion" is a six versus six mode with three squads of two on each team.[8] The gametype pits Spartans against Elites; Elites vie for control of territories to disable a shield guarding a navigation core. Once the shield is disabled, they must transfer the core to a dropship; the Spartans must prevent this. As the game progresses, new vehicles and areas of the map become open." I read this on the multiplayer section one thing to note is that it isn't always the Elites that are attacking for the territories. Depending on the Map the Spartans will attack and the Elites will defend even though the gameplay stays the same I figured that it should be noted that depending on the map the Spartans may be attacking. TWD26

We need a source in order to put it in the article. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 18:36, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Add Gears of War 3 to the games that supassed three million units its first month here: "NPD Group figures estimated that Reach sold 3.3 million units in North America, making it third in its console generation to surpass three million units its first month (alongside Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2).[64]" Info from: http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/716890/gears-of-war-3-sells-more-than-three-million-copies-in-first-week

Bungie changed their name to 343 Industries after they left Microsoft, so I believe we should change the developer name from Bungie to 343 Industries. Can anyone else agree? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.202.236.27 (talk) 02:56, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
