Deletions

The problem is, what you created was... it wasn't an article. It was so far away from our recommended style that I felt it was unsalvageable. It didn't really explain what VPEC-T is. I strongly recommend you read several other articles on similar subjects (whatever 'similar' means in this case!) to get a feeling for how to do it properly.

I'll give you the deleted content later today (not feeling well just now). DS (talk) 14:33, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Einstine

Who is Einstine? You are absolutely right - Einstein's theories could not have been written up here until they had been thoroughly peer-reviewed. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 23:38, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback, sorry for the spelling error. --York Earwaker (talk) 16:06, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Dynamic Process Management

I have nominated Dynamic Process Management, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dynamic Process Management. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Maxim(talk) 16:41, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay

Create the article in a subpage of your userspace, for instance here. Once you're done, ask some admins for their opinions. DS (talk) 18:26, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello York Earwaker,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, McCully Workshop Inc. (album), may be copied from http://www.mccullyworkshop.co.za/inc.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia!Template:Z18 MadmanBot (talk) 17:56, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Financial Tycoon (album)

Hello York Earwaker,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Financial Tycoon (album) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, LGA talk to me 23:17, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How can I get this reversed or decline? I need more time to work on the article.York Earwaker (talk) 23:44, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Create the article first in your Sandbox and then when you are ready move it to main space. LGA talk to me 23:46, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was just importing an album cover picture for the article something I can't do in the sandbox.York Earwaker (talk) 23:49, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please reverse the deletion so I can import the album cover image. York Earwaker (talk) 23:52, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I will ask the deleting admin if the would make a copy available for you in your user space for you to work on. LGA talk to me 23:54, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How will I know if or when the page has been created in my user space? What happens when I want to move to the the main space?York Earwaker (talk) 00:03, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There is an additional concern. The album is by a Danish band Coma. If you recreate the article in the mainspace and there is no article for the band, the article will be deleted again. At this point I would suggest you create an article on the band. I have restored the page and it is at User:York Earwaker/Financial Tycoon (album) GB fan 00:12, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Why can there be no (album) article without there first being a (band) article? These seem very arbitrary? Can you explain the precedent for this decision please? York Earwaker (talk) 00:15, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was remembering the criterion wrong, I have struck that. GB fan 00:18, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So, for clarity, if move the Financial Tycoon (album) article to the mainspace it won't be deleted notwithstanding there being no Coma (band) page? York Earwaker (talk) 00:23, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
BTW. Thanks for recreating the page in my namespace. York Earwaker (talk) 00:26, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No it won't as long as it indicates why it is important or significant. You're welcome. GB fan 00:27, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Importance also seems like a very arbitrary value judgement. A thing important to one person might be trivial to another and visa versa. What is the precedence for importance as and criterion for selection for deletion? York Earwaker (talk) 00:41, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Importance or significance is arbitrary and there is plenty of times that people disagree. I did a quick look through the archives of the Criteria for speedy deletion talk page and did not find where it was decided. If you want a conversation about the criteria the place to have it is on that page. GB fan 00:57, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. If you do stumble across it pleas point me in its direction. York Earwaker (talk) 01:08, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Financial Tycoon (album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Danish (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please use the most specific categories possible.

Hello, I see your recent article on a Danish jazz album included the categories Category:Music and Category:Denmark. Those are way too broad; you can imagine how unnavigable Category:Music would be if every album and band that ever existed was deposited directly there. For Category:Denmark, note that usually only 2-3 of the very broadest articles belong directly in a country-name categorey (c.f. Category:Japan, Category:Australia), and everything more specific should be further sub-categorised. WP:Categories has more info on it. Thanks! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited What The Hell Is Going On? (album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ziggy Stardust (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Orphaned non-free media (File:What The Hell Is Going On 1974 front cover.jpg)

The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:24, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored the article. More content is definitely needed. The IMDB and Myspace sources are unreliable, and should be replaced; you should find reliable sources for that info. INeverCry 18:49, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks INeverCry. Will search out more sources. --York Earwaker (talk) 15:39, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
