The New Party (Partido Novo) is a Brazilian political party founded on 12 February 2011.
The party was registered on July 23, 2014, with the delivery of 493,316 signatures from citizens supporting its creation, which was approved on September 15, 2015.[5] The party requested to use the number "30" for elections purposes. It's a party ideologically aligned with neoliberalism,[3][4] and is mostly formed by people with no political experience.
Ideology
The New Party supports policies that reduce the state's interference on the economy.[6] It does not take any stance on social issues like abortion and gay marriage.[7] The party is considered by Rede Record and R7[8] to be the center-right.[9]
Policy proposals
Among the party's proposals are the end of the party fund and compulsory voting, and defending private financing of campaigns[10]
For the best public management, the party aims for the privatization of public enterprises like Petrobras, Central Bank and Banco do Brasil.[11] It aims also to privatize the public health system and public education. The state would give vouchers for health and education to people who couldn't afford it.
For the party, the regulations should be minimum for a myriad of services. The social security system should be privatized. The central bank should be independent from the state.[12]
