Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Jammalama (talk | contribs) at 11:47, 27 April 2017 (User:Bonadeia: new section). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, G5 or G11 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Instructions for special cases

I have been in the process of working on Kobi Arad's page. With a little work, it should confirm to Wiki standards. I would love to work with what already existed instead of creating a new page altogether. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hkronk (talkcontribs) 07:19, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The only editors who have been working on this article recently are sockpuppets. ~Anachronist (talk) 07:22, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Hkronk: there are no contributions from you in the deleted history of that article. What username were you using at the time? ~Anachronist (talk) 00:11, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I never made any changes to the page - I've only been compiling info and sources. By the time I got around to editing, the page had been deleted.

Would it be better to start a new page from scratch?

@Hkronk: Well, the deleted version is actually pretty extensive and well done. So I have restored it to draft space to give you an opportunity to improve it further: Draft:Kobi Arad.
@Favonian: @JzG: Just letting you know as a courtesy that I restored an article you deleted as G5 to draft space. The requester here isn't a sockpuppet (I had a checkuser clear it at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/MusicLover650) so I am confident that Hkronk can improve the article so that it can be restored to main space in a way that wouldn't be eligible for deletion under WP:G5. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:37, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So be it, Anachronist. Favonian (talk) 20:51, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article was previously discussed for deletion at AfD with a result of no consensus. Also, the article had edits by users other than the creator, so G5 is inappropriate. —GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 23:12, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Premeditated Chaos: this looks like a borderline G5 to me, could have gone either way. It looks like the banned user contributed about half the content, although the other half seems to consist mostly of maintenance edits like filling in references. Do you object to restoring it? ~Anachronist (talk) 05:33, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sudhir Kumar Mishra

Hello Cabayi, I am really surprised that my page got deleted under speedy deletion. I really dont understand why it was done. I have followed all the possible norms of the wiki while creating a wiki page of Sudhir Kumar Mishra, the CEO & MD of BRAHMOS who has a very known personality in India's Missile Scientists. I would like to create a new page with the same name, but before that, I want to know if the same action will be taken for that also? Please let me know the main reason for the deletion of the page and so that I can do the needful and create the page. —Sudhirmishraji (talk) 04:53, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Sudhir Kumar Mishra, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Dlohcierekim (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review.
@Sudhirmishraji: It would be best if you continued in draft space rather than performing disruptive recreations in main space, especially if the article is about you (as it seems to be based on your username). Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and ask the deleting admin if he'd be willing to restore Draft:Sudhir Kumar Mishra so you can continue working on it. ~Anachronist (talk) 05:30, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sudhirmishraji (talk) 06:22, 20 April 2017 (UTC) Thanks you so much Anachronist ~Anachronist, I was really not getting the point about the frequent deletion of this page. Now, I think I got the point. I will put a request to Dlohcierekim who has deleted my page and closed the discussion, to re open the page and I will make changes over there. And I am not the same person for whom I am making the page. I am just an employee of BRAHMOS Aerospace, and very new to wikipedia. While creating the wiki account to draft this page, I thought the username should be same as the page title. so I used the username- Sudhirmishraji, even my mail address can justify that thing. Anyway, better I should change the user name. Is there any way to change the username? Once again thanks for your suggestions. Or better I create a new account with my real username? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sudhirmishraji (talkcontribs) 06:25, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Sam Tyurenkov: Who is this "we" you refer to? some fascist deleted the article a couple years ago because they didnt think she was 'worthy' as i recall

whatever problems it may or may not have had , there are too many articles deleted , and this is just one example, that other readers want to have for reference and do not want some over zealous new admin deleting it to feel their power over what we get to read

that is called censorship not curation

this article is just one example that i have encountered and is the reason many people will not donate or bother helping improve existing articles

Ed Watzke

This article was deleted today only a few hours after it was posted.

I strongly agree with the deletion. It is an translation from the German Wikipedia article about the same person. Maybe the administrator didn't realize or notice that fact!

Since it was accepted for German Wikipedia and has been there for some time, it ought to be accepted in English Wikipedia.

This person has achieved significant notability in Austria, Germany and Europe generally for the work he has done and for his achievements.

It had been suggested that I contact the administrator who did the deletion, but I have totally been unable to find a way to contact him!

So I am asking you to restore the article.

Dr. Ed Watzke, the subject, was quite delighted that the article about him would now be appearing in English as well as German; now he will be greatly disappointed!

If it needs improvement in formatting, or editing, please do that for me, as I don't know how!

Thank you. —RalphDerDeutsche (talk) 00:38, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@RalphDerDeutsche: You "strongly agree with the deletion"? Then what is the problem?
This is the English Wikipedia, and the criteria for inclusion here are generally more rigorous than for Wikipedias in other languages. If something has existed on another Wikipedia, it is irrelevant to the English Wikipedia. Each is independent and has its own rules.
The article was speedy deleted in accordance with WP:A7 because it failed to include any assertion of significance of the subject, therefore it is ineligible for restoration by request on this page. It also failed to include any references to reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Golden rule to get a brief overview of what is required before an article can be accepted here.
The deleting administrator is Anthony Bradbury. Communicate with him on User talk:Anthony Bradbury. Please do that first. He may be willing to restore the article to draft space for improvement before publishing in the main article space. ~Anachronist (talk) 09:07, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Liza del Sierra

Hello. I'd like to address the case of porn actress Liza del Sierra (BTW, most of the time her stage name is spelled Del Sierra), whose page was deleted after this discussion because she had no awards and only nominations. Actually, she has an award (a European one, at the Brussels International Festival of Eroticism) but IMHO the main argument for restoring the page is that she is mostly know in France where she has been featured several times in "notable mainstream media" (hence meeting the 3rd requirement of WP:PORNBIO). You can see examples here (Paris Première) and here (L'Obs : the article is about a documentary shown on France 2, which focused on the shooting of one or her films. The article also mentions the fact that she is well-known in France, as far as porn stars go). She may not be exceptionally notable in the US, but she definitely is in her native country. Thank you ! —Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 09:12, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Anachronist: That is exactly what I did : I first contacted The Bushranger (talk · contribs), who told me that I should ask here.
The problem with this article is that the previous version apparently ignored the fact that she is notable in France, and that therefore we should not only take into account the criteria used for American porn stars. Also, she does have an award (a European one) and not only nominations. Does that qualify as "significant new information" ? (it is kind of "new" since it was not in the article) Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 06:30, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Benjamin Maio Mackay

The page was about a relevant actor, director and podcaster who has appeared in more than 60 theatrical productions and been nominated for numerous awards. His podcast averages millions of listeners and his tours have all been sell-out successes. As a public figure of some fame he should be included on wikipedia. —AnActorsFriend (talk) 09:15, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, firstly I AM Benjamin Maio Mackay. Until recently I didn't know this page existed, but after a fan wrote in and altered me I was quite pleased. All the information was accurate and I had found that many of my guests were choosing the show because they felt that a host with a wikipedia was "worthy." I've never used this page as a promotional tool and I do have a dedicated following of fans (and millions of podcast listeners). I'm aware my podcasting reaches worldwide, while my acting and directing has only been in AUS. However, I've directed 7 theatrical productions (3 national tours) and performed in over 70 shows. I've earned many award nominations across Australia and played to thousands of people. Clearly I'm not famous, I don't delude myself - but my performance merits are equal to many other who appear on wikipedia. Therefore I think the page should be re-instated. Thanks in advance for your help. —MaioMackay74 (talk) 09:37, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Brandon Ross

Hi, I'd like to contest this PROD, if (and only if) the previous article was about the jazz guitarist. Brandon Ross has an article in the Grove encyclopedia of jazz, which I can use to anchor the page in terms of reliable sourcing. Thanks —Chubbles (talk) 06:48, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Chubbles:  Done. The deleted article started out "Brandon Ross is an American Gamer, Skater and 3D Artist." But it looks like that version was created by a vandal, who completely replaced the prior version about the jazz guitarist, and then it was subsequently PRODded for deletion. So I've restored the whole history and reverted it back to the most recent version about the guitarist. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:22, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I created this 1st in main-space, and only i worked on to improve the article, but few users didn't "like" & decided to "delete", then i posted under my usersapce, and only i worked on page, but again users decided to delete! —AtErik1 (talk) 19:59, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article was purely for and academic class and was not intended to cover a topic already discussed. If possible, i'd like a copy of the article to keep to myself so i may still receive a grade by my instructor. Michael Ross George, userfied request

Article was soft deleted because of notability issues. I would like to improve the article. Can it please be userfied or emailed to me? Thank you. —xcshells@icloud.com (talk) 03:45, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Freyja10:  Done. There was some duplication between that deleted article and a draft that already exists at Draft:Michael Ross George. I have merged the histories together in the draft. You will find everything there. The edit history of the deleted article will be the edits between 18 March and 17 April. ~Anachronist (talk) 21:06, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rahul_Verma_(social_activist)

You are requested to please reconsider your decision to delete above page. There are references available about the subject’s contribution to the society. This is not an emotional appeal but a request as this social worker keeps his foundation first before promoting himself, and work significantly towards the betterment and welfare of the society. If you go through their official website or other press coverage, you will find that all the work is done by him only and everywhere his name is mentioned along with his foundation.

Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rahul Verma (social activist), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Juliancolton (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. ~Anachronist (talk) 08:09, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

 *Reason for undeleting :-

  • 1.This page is about a person who is one of key person of Vaishnavism.
*2. I live near Ekachakra , burial place of him.
It looks like it contained copyright violations from here and here, although it was ultimately deleted via WP:A7. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 15:06, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I, Topfloordjs, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Topfloordjs (talk) 14:26, 26 April 2017 (UTC) We have grown massively as a forum and service. We host almost 30,000 clients and have little to no rival companies providing what we do. We have made many alterations over the years which i would like to include in the original post if i get access back to it and to publish it. —Topfloordjs (talk) 14:26, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Topfloordjs, I can restore this, but I do have to caution you on editing with a WP:COI. I'm also concerned that you are editing with a shared account, per the phrase "we". I think that you were using the we in referring to the company as a whole, but we need to be able to know that this account will only be run by one person and not shared with others. The article was deleted based on the assumption that it was a paid advertisement or created by hired help. The article's subject is a prominent business figure and the article is much like many other articles about business figures. I was not paid to write this article, although I was asked to help write it as a favor. Please let me know if changes need to be made to the article or if I need to cite that I was asked to help write the article. I looked through WP:NOT but did not find any mention of issues similar to mine. I am new to writing articles so I apologize if I made a mistake. Thank you! —Jameswhunt (talk) 14:58, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Darz (artist)

The article was soft deleted because of no response. They stated my references were not notable but the blogs I've referenced are top music industry blogs. Specially from the location that the artist lives in. We also included link to official music outlets like Itunes and Spotify proving that Darz has in fact worked with these big artist's — Preceding unsigned comment added by DarzOfAudioDripz (talkcontribs) 17:03, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@DarzOfAudioDripz: Because you have a conflict of interest (read WP:COI for guidance) your only viable venue for submitting an article about yourself is Wikipedia:Articles for creation. The article is unlikely to survive another deletion proposal, so I have moved the article to Draft:Darz (artist) to give you time to work on it. Please submit it for review rather than moving it back to main space. And by the way, "worked with" notable artists doesn't mean you're notable, because notability is not inherited. We also need more than blogs as sources. See WP:MUSICBIO for inclusion criteria. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:18, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

|1= National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (NICPR) |2= This educational article was created for the global readers to know more about the topic in detail. This article was still in editing process and have had to go several updation also. Preliminarily the content of this article was partially taken from the website as the article has direct link to the website. I request you to kindly restore the article and allow me to change/edit the article to resolve any violation of copyrights caused(if any). —Kay Cee10 (talk) 19:33, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Kay Cee10:  Not done. Sorry, but there is no benefit to the Wikipedia project in restoring a copyright violation. Exposing the Wikimedia Foundation to potential liability isn't a decision that any volunteer here can make (and administrators are all volunteers).
If you are associated with NICPR, then you have a conflict of interest. Please read WP:COI and start over again in draft space, for example Draft:National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research. In draft space, you will have more time to work on it without worrying about someone coming along and deleting it (except if you violate copyright again). When you are satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines and inclusion criteria, go to Wikipedia:Articles for creation and follow the instructions to submit the article for review by another editor who has no connection to the organization. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:46, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not familiar with this term, but ran into red-links to it in n number of other articles, so it appears to be a necessary/useful piece in the puzzle. Regarding notability (the PRODers concern), perhaps the subject is better known under other names. Please undelete. Thanks. —Matthiaspaul (talk) 22:31, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Declined pending further information. This was undeleted over six months ago with a pledge that it would be worked on, but no edits were made to improve the entry for resubmission. Articles for creation is not an indefinite hosting service for material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia's article mainspace. We may be willing to restore it again, but only if you provide a definite assurance that you actually intend to work on it and provide a short description of what you intend to do to improve it to meet our policies and guidelines. Please advise. ~Anachronist (talk) 04:41, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
