Elizabeth Frances Baaba Sey (née Biney) (April 21, 1927 – 1991)[1] was the first female graduate of the University of Ghana. She was admitted to what was then the University College of the Gold Coast, now University of Ghana, in 1950 and graduated with a BA degree in 1953.[2]
After graduating she became the Education Officer for Sekondi. She was Head of the English Department at Achimota School until retiring in 1987. She served on the Board of Governors of the Ghana International School until her death.[1]
In 2012, the University of Ghana inaugurated a 400-room hall that was named after her.[2]
