The 2012 MTV Movie Awards were held on June 3, 2012[1] at the Universal Amphitheatre, hosted by Russell Brand.[2]

The nominees were announced on May 1, and the winners were chosen by fans and a panel of MTV executives.[3][4] On May 10, Russell Brand was announced to host the 2012 show.[5][6][7]
