Tanushree Dutta (তনুশ্রী দত্ত) (pronounced [t̪ənʊʃri], born 19 March 1984) is an Indian model and actress who primarily appears in Bollywood movies. Dutta is the recipient of Femina Miss India Universe title in 2004. During the same year at the Miss Universe beauty pageant, she was among the top ten finalists.[1][2][3]

Early life

Dutta was born and raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, to a conservative Bengali Hindu family. She attended D.B.M.S. English School in her hometown, and attended Junior College in Pune. She dropped out of college after completing her first year of BCom to pursue a modelling career. Her sister, Ishita Dutta, is also an actress and model.

In 2003, Dutta won the Femina Miss India pageant held in Mumbai; as a result, she represented India at the Miss Universe 2004 Pageant which took place in Quito, Ecuador, where she placed amongst the top 10 finalists.

She made her Bollywood début in 2005, appearing in Chocolate and Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Aashiq Banaya Aapne was a box office success, and its music was considered a record breaking All Time Blockbuster.[4]

She did an Indian pop music video, "Saiyan Dil Mein Aana Re" by Harry Anand, before taking part in the Miss India pageant. It was a massive hit and she subsequently performed at several stage shows in 2003.

In September 2018, she accused Nana Patekar of harassing her on sets of movie Horn OK Please in 2008.[5]
