Avatar: The Last Airbender is a multimedia franchise consisting of television series, a live-action film, comics, books, video games, home media, and soundtracks. Beginning as an animated television series, Avatar: The Last Airbender was created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino and aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. A sequel animated series, The Legend of Korra, aired on Nickelodeon from 2012 to 2014. Since its original release, the series has developed into a franchise with tie-ins in multiple forms of media, including a live-action adaptation The Last Airbender.
