K22NM-D is a low-power television station in Las Cruces, New Mexico, broadcasting locally in digital on UHF channel 22 (virtual 4) as an affiliate of the NBC network, rebroadcasting the signal of Albuquerque, New Mexico's KOB. Founded on October 27, 1994, the station is owned by Hubbard Broadcasting and operated by KVIA-TV, a station owned by the News-Press & Gazette Company. The station was seen in the El Paso market on DirecTV channel 42 and Time Warner Cable channel 9 -- not to be confused with KTSM-TV, which broadcasts on channel 9 terrestrially, but is carried on Time Warner channel 10, due to cable signal ingress issues. The station was removed from these two cable providers sometime in 2016.
K22NM-D was first licensed as K42DJ in 1994; in September 2006, it adopted the callsign KAEP-LP (meaning Azteca América El Paso), following affiliating with the then-new Azteca America network. The station would revert to its K42DJ callsign on May 19, 2014, for reasons unknown. The station was licensed for digital operation on January 30, 2019, changing its call sign to K22NM-D.
