Sivasankarapuram is a village located 5 km from Thalaivasal. Agriculture and poultry are the two most important businesses in this region. Most farmers plant maize, sugarcane, tapioca and vegetables such as chilli, brinjal, raddish, Lady's finger and so on. There is a market in Thalaivasal where farmers sell the vegetables to the merchants. There is a Maariyaman temple in the middle of the village.

There is one lake in this village.
