Matt Alland is the co-creator of Conan vs. bear, a comedy site that picked up national media attention in August, 2005. The site was noted by O'Brien himself on Late Night with Conan O'Brien early September, and gained national media attention from sources such as Newsday, USAToday, The Journal Sentinel, and the Pioneer Press. Dan Piraro also did a relevant cartoon for his nationally syndicated comic strip, Bizarro on September 29th. The site also contains original artwork from award-winning Hallmark card artist, Oliver Christianson (Revilo).

Alland is also the creator of multiple web hosting related businesses. In the mid-nineties he created HostCompare.com, which was ultimately sold to Toronto based VerticalScope. Under his management, the site gained notable mentions from sources like PC Magazine, CNET, BusinessWeek, and USAToday.
