This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

SS Choctaw
Hi,
My name is Dan, and I've been trying to correct some erroneous information in the SS Choctaw article. While I realize that your edits are based on published material, I believe I have better first-hand knowledge of the current state of the wreck than TBNMS does, based on many hours of video and sonar, both remote-operated and diver-operated.
I just looked briefly at the article and noted a number of erroneous changes. I'll read it carefully and post my findings here.
Cheers!

- @Michigan Gold Diver: Thank you very much, I'll undo my erroneous edits.
@GreatLakesShips: Thanks for undoing your edit - and thanks for cleaning up all the other details. Looks great! Search YouTube for Choctaw Shipwreck to see video of the wreck. Michigan Gold Diver (talk) 20:33, 22 January 2019 (UTC)Michigan Gold Diver

DYK for SS Selah Chamberlain
On 6 February 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article SS Selah Chamberlain, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the freighter Selah Chamberlain sank on Lake Michigan after a collision with another ship? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/SS Selah Chamberlain. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, SS Selah Chamberlain), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for October 10
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited SS Hudson (1888), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Frank Kirby (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:26, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Creating articles
I saw your post at WP:SHIPS. Since you have a lot of experience creating articles, I recommend you skip the AFC process and just create and post them. I usually work on the article in my sandbox, search for the title, create the article by clicking on the redlink, and copy/paste from the sandbox. Usually, within 24 hours somebody will "patrol" the article and add it to the encyclopedia. RobDuch (talk·contribs) 19:12, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages
Thanks for your recent addition to October 18. I've gone ahead and tightened up your addition a bit and added a reference.
You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Almost all new additions without references are now being reverted on-sight.

DYK nomination of SS Etruria
Hello! Your submission of SS Etruria at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Yoninah (talk) 23:29, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Some additional issues have come to light that need your attention. Please stop by at your earliest convenience. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:43, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, your edits did not address the close paraphrasing that is a major problem with the NRHP material. This will need to be addressed; please see the nomination page for further information. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:21, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
@BlueMoonset:, sorry, I have been a bit busy lately, but I will resolve it as soon as possible.
Whalebacks
Hello My friend! It seems that as your interests are the same as mine, you could help me with this project. I'm trying to make an article for every Whaleback ship. The list of all Whalebacks is hard to find on the internet, but I found the book Whalebacks by Neel Zoss. That has a list of all of them that I can post if you need me to. Will you help me with this project? Bowtiesarecool06 (talk) 19:58, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
Why Not Both?
I think a list should be made on the Whaleback page, but each ship should have their own article. I can make the list as long as you are able to help me make a couple of the articles and/or expand on some of the lacking articles that already exist. Bowtiesarecool06 (talk) 20:30, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
@Bowtiesarecool06:, I think it is definitely possible, but it would take quite a long time. GreatLakesShips (talk) 20:39, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
