Sorin Paliga

Viorel-Sorin Paliga (b. June 21, 1956, Braniștea, Dâmbovița County) is a linguist, university professor, writer, member of the Writers' Union (Bucharest branch) and Romanian politician, former mayor of Sector 3 of Bucharest between June 1996 and June 2000 from the PNL. He studied Czech and English at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Bucharest. He received his doctorate in 1998 with the work Roman and Pre-Roman Influences in the Southern Slavic Languages.
