About Me
My name is Neal Stimler. I take an interdisciplinary approach to humanistic scholarship that is informed by art history, cultural studies, digital technology and museum studies. I am interested in digital humanities, digital scholarship and digital strategy for museums. I am a GLAM advocate and seek to facilitate connections between archives, libraries, museums and Wikimedians. My contributions focus on collaboratively building projects, adding citations, data and digital assets. Leave a message on my talk page or contact me at my personal website or on Twitter @nealstimler.
I had an over ten-year career at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where I collaborated with User:Pharos and Wikimedia New York City for Metropolitan Museum of Art's first Wikimedia in Residence. In Auckland, New Zealand, I served as the inaugural Head of Engagement at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki from 2017-2018. I am now a consultant and Senior Advisor at Balboa_Park_(San_Diego) Online Collaborative.
I am currently working with The Cleveland Museum of Art to further engagement with Wikimedia communities. This work has been done in collaboration with User:Madreiling, User:Fuzheado, and User:Multichill. I am grateful for their support. You can now find images from the collection of The Cleveland Museum of Art[1] on Wikimedia Commons.
