Disney Junior (formerly known as Playhouse Disney) is a Southeast Asian pay television channel owned by Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific. Aimed mainly for children between 2 through 8 years of age,[4] its programming consists of original first-run television series, theatrically-released and made-for-DVD movies and select other third-party programming. Disney Junior also lent its name to an early morning program block seen on sister network Disney Channel, branded as "Disney Junior on Disney Channel."

The block was discontinued on 31 July 2018 in favor of using the Disney Channel moniker.

Due to agreement between Disney and Astro, Disney channels cannot appear on other Malaysian TV providers.

Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior ceased transmission in Singapore on June 1, 2020, on both Singtel and StarHub and replaced by Disney+ on February 23, 2021.[5]

On August 5, 2020, Disney Junior upgraded to HD on Astro but Disney Junior, including its sister channels, would cease operations in Malaysia on January 1, 2021, on Astro due to launch of Disney+ Hotstar in Malaysia on June 1, 2021 and replaced by Nick Jr. and Boomerang which launched on December 15, 2020 on Astro on same package (Kids Pack). The message showing "This channel is no longer available. Enjoy the refreshed Kids Pack with new channels Boomerang (CH 619) and Nick Jr. (CH 617) on TV & 10,000 episodes On Demand. We also have FAMtv (CH 100), a brand new pop-up channel." showing Tom & Jerry and Dora due to channel replacement.

After 17 years of broadcast history, Disney Channel Asia, Disney Channel Hong Kong and Disney Junior Asia along with many other Fox Networks Asia channels will cease transmission in Asia effective October 1, 2021 to focus on Disney+ Hotstar (or Disney+ in Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore).[6][7] Disney Channel Taiwan will continue to operate.[3]
