Clifford Bariton (born December 18, 1984). Hails from Bunu- Bangha in Nyo-Khana district of Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, Nigeria. His specialization is Educational Management, Leadership & Policy Implementation. He is an influential grassroots politician and mobilizer in Khana local government area in Rivers State.

• EARLY LIFE

Started his education in AGNS Nursery School in 1986 & Primary School 11 in 1989 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1994. He later proceeded to Birabi Memorial Grammar School all in Bori to obtain his Senior School Certificate in 2000.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Science Education from University Of Port Harcourt in 2012,a Master’s degree in Educational Management & a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership & Policy from the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers State in 2021. He is currently a doctoral researcher at the post graduate school of same university with specialization in Educational Leadership,Policy Formulation & Implementation.

• EARLY CAREER

Served as Personal Assistant to Caretaker Chairman of Khana Local Government Area in 2007.

Chairman of the Prestigious Nelson Mandela Hall in the University of Port Harcourt, serving two consecutive terms in 2007-2008.

Elected into the Student Union Parliament to represent Education Science Department in the Student Representative Council of the University of Port Harcourt in 2008-2010.

Elected to serve as Organizing Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Khana LGA between 2012-2014

Served as Special Assistant to Commissioner in the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission between 2012 -2015.

Appointed member, Ministerial Committee on the Implementation of UNEP report by the honourable minister of Environment in 2016.

Also elected as Publicity Secretary of Nigeria’s ruling party, The All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2014-2019.

Clifford, currently serves as SSA to the Rivers State Coordinator of National Ageicultural Land Development Agency, an interventionist agency in the Presidency.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION

Clifford holds a professional Diploma in Oil and Gas Safety Management from Elechi Amadi Polytechnic. Professional certificate in Health, Safety and Environment from the Onshore & Offshore Safety Institute, Port Harcourt.

CONTRIBUTION TO ACADEMICS

Clifford is a reviewer for the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Science (IJRISS). He has contributed professionally in the field of academic research by co-publishing in journals and textbooks. To his credit are: Entrepreneurship in Education, by Prof. Nwiyi Gift (2020) and Nigeria Educational Policy, Planning and Implementation Issues by Dr. Nwankwaola H.N.L, (2021). Also, he has several other unpublished works.

• Currently serves as SSA to the Rivers State Coordinator, National Agricultural Land Development Agency, a presidential interventionist agency.

COMMERCE & INDUSTRY

He is a director in Sherryford group, a family owned investment company with interest in agro-allied services and ICT. Sherryford’s portfolio cuts across the agric sector, oil and gas, hospitality, real estate, logistics and information & communication technology. The company is operational in three states including the FCT.

Clifford Bariton is married to Joy, and they are blessed with children.
