"Get Born Again" was one of the last two songs that Alice in Chains ever recorded, the other being "Died," both written for their 1999 release Nothing Safe: Best of the Box. It features a murky, heavy grunge sound. The song was written by Layne Staley, and the lyrics are about either Layne, who was trying to "get born again" into a new life free of his drug addiction and depression, or Layne's deceased girlfriedd.
