Madelyn Renee Cline (born December 21, 1997) is an American actress and model. She starred as Sarah Cameron on the Netflix drama series Outer Banks.[1][2]
Career
Cline spent some of her early summers in New York City working on television commercials, some being for T-Mobile and Sunny D.[3][4] She soon got to start with small roles such as Chloe in Boy Erased and Taylor Watts in Vice Principals.[5] She also had small recurring roles in The Originals and Stranger Things.[1]
In 2018, Cline was cast as Sarah Cameron in Outer Banks, the first season of which was released on April 15, 2020.[6][7] Considered her breakout role, the show received positive reviews and a second season which premiered in July 2021.[8] In September 2020, Cline and Chase Stokes starred in the music video for Kygo and Donna Summer's single "Hot Stuff."[9] In June 2021, she joined the cast of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.[10]
Personal life
Cline was born to real estate agent Pam and engineer Mark and was raised in Goose Creek, South Carolina, near Charleston.[11][12] She briefly was enrolled in college at Coastal Carolina University, but dropped out and moved to Los Angeles to further pursue acting.[13]
In June 2020, she announced that she was in a relationship with her Outer Banks co-star Chase Stokes.[14] In October 2021, the couple split.[15]
