Lydie Lamine (born August 9, 1968[1]), also known as Lydie Pace, is a Central African singer.
She was born in the Central African Republic where she spent a good part of her childhood.
Her family was finally forced to leave the continent in 1978 due to the repression put in place by the new emperor Bokassa I. [2]
It is only late that Lydie Pace will borrow the voice of the Opera, it is at the age of 22 years that her first music teachers, impressed by his voice complexion invite her to turn to classical music.
In 1993, she received her first award: the Prix de Chant Lyrique awarded by André Guilbert (Director of the Conservatoire Hector-Berlioz). Two years later, Lydie Pace won the 2nd Prize of the International Competition of French Singing Masters.
Until 2000, she participated in a multitude of concerts and recitals.
In 1998, Lydie Pace obtained the Diplôme de Fin d'Etudes Supérieures de Chant, at the Conservatoire National de Région de Rueil-Malmaison in the class of Elizabeth Vidal, as well as the Trophée Jeune Talent Lyrique, during the 4th Nuit des Jeunes Talents de l'Oise.
She is known for her notable roles: the title role in Aida (Verdi's opera) at the Zenith in Clermont-Ferrand (2005)[3]; Carmen (Bizet); or more recently her performance in Porgy and Bess.
Lydie Pace is also known for her commitments to associations and international level: she gave, at the invitation of the Alliance Française and for the benefit of the fight against AIDS, "the first opera recital in Bangui". In 2014, she will participate, with other artists of the African song in the writing and interpretation of the song "Peace in Central Africa" to encourage the end of tensions in the country.[4]
