Berkeley and "Showgirls"
Has "Showgirls" really ruined her career? Aside from Mark-Paul Gosselaar being on "NYPD Blue," how have the rest of the former cast members of "Saved by the Bell" really been "more successful"? In fact, I'd say the only reason Berkley even gets any film roles anymore is because of the notoriety she got from the film. Otherwise, she'd be as washed up and forgotten as the rest of them. I don't know how we could incorporate anything to this extent in the article here, since it really is widely presumed that the film "ruined her career," but I thought I'd just put it out here --Damiel 12:18, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
- I think the point is that Berkley is the only one of that cast who has been hired to front a mega-millions major motion picture, thus making her the only one to have been given the OPPORTUNITY to even HAVE one - and then that opportunity was squashed because of how bad the film was. Pacian 06:15, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
Plus the fact she can't act.
WRONG!!!!!!
- Paul Verhoeven said in 2015 that he told Berkley to act in an abrupt manner in "Showgirls" as her character was supposed to be unstable. (86.144.85.47 (talk) 10:42, 19 June 2017 (UTC))

The quote is that of a character she played; not the actress herself. Further more, it is a pointless quote. -Camknows
Personal Life
I haven't found anything about her becoming a drug addict and doing hard core porn. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.177.190.188 (talk) 04:16, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Her listed place of birth, Fort Durrange, Michigan, is questionable. If you Google Fort Durrange, Michigan all you get are references to Berkley. I'm also a lifelong Michigan resident and I've never heard of the place. Goosman99 (talk) 14:22, 25 November 2007 (UTC) she was in porn?--67.32.195.191 (talk) 23:41, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Age
How old is she? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.131.185.168 (talk) 11:27, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- She is thirty-three years old. I have referred to an interview with her in which she states this fact several times - and that IMDb has her age wrong, which every other website takes her date of birth from, thereby spreading false information - but someone keeps changing it. The link to the article is here: [1] --Le David (talk) 13:44, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, David. Her being born in 1974 makes the following article quote make sense: "In 1982, at the age of only eight". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.140.96.54 (talk) 04:09, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
(talk)she was not born in 1974 she was born in 1972 because she was a high school graduate in 1990 at the age of 18 she's 44 Le David (talk) 09:07, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
- People skip grades all the time. This is especially common with child actors. UncomfortablySmug (talk) 21:09, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
Age thing continues.
All I'm going to say is please get her age right. And kind of change the whole article a little bit. She was not born in 1972. She was born in 1974. It's messed up to tell the whole world a false age. So, if you get my point. Please correct that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.174.235.171 (talk) 11:36, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- The interview where she explains that she was born in 1974 is still available, but someone keeps linking to IMDb instead, ignoring the fact Berkley herself gave this interview.Le David (talk) 13:22, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Supposed Wikipedia:Policy on children of celebrities
An edit was made to remove sourced info on a child of the subject of the article. I reverted since the information was sourced and pertinent to the article. My reversion was reverted by the reverting editor. User:ScrapIronIV If there is such a policy, please link to it. If not please put the material back in the article. If material is source, pertinent, and doesn't violate a Wikipedia:Policy, I see not reason not to include it. Klaun (talk) 19:08, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- Feel free to go to WP:BLPPRIVACY, WP:NPF and WP:BLPNAME. This has been discussed at length, and a interesting discussions can be found here and here. Respecting the safety and privacy of minors is an important issue. Happy editing! Scr★pIronIV 19:21, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- WP:BLPPRIVACY is about primary sources, so I'm not sure how it is relevant to the edit in question. Also, info that falls under WP:BLPPRIVACY needs to be reported to the Oversight Team, did you do that in this case? WP:NPF does not prohibit use and in fact says it can be with caution. Similarly with WP:BLPNAME. The linked discussions seem contentious and I think it is a stretch to say consensus was reached in either case. I'm not sure what the goal of excising the information in question is, it is not about privacy. If there was a concerted attempt by the individual in question to keep this information private, I can see why editors would go out of their way to remove or obfuscate it. This is not the case here. Also, I'd point the edit didn't just obfuscate names and dates of birth, it excised the fact that Ms. Berkley had a child altogether other than from the infobox. Klaun (talk) 20:16, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- Complete removal was an error on my part. I am not certain how I managed that - it was not my intention. I will reinstate it, along with the publicized name. In this case, the subject herself announced the name publicly. In this case, the only bit I will remove is the date of birth. Thank you for your persistence. Cheers! Birth Year
Can we please stop changing her birth year to 1972? In a 2008 interview with Newsweek, she stated she was thirty-three and that her birth year on IMDb is inaccurate. UncomfortablySmug (talk) 21:06, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
- @UncomfortablySmug: Do you have a source for a definitive statement like that? --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 17:22, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- I see the source that indicates she was 33 years old in 2008. Thanks--but there's no need for an allcaps comment in the infobox... --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 17:27, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- I wrote it in all caps because people kept reverting the change, even after I explained that Berkley herself has stated she was born in 1974. UncomfortablySmug (talk) 21:37, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
