The identity of student government officers (student body president, et. al.) are general knowledge, like who the president of the university is. It is encyclopedic information that has an external reference. AnneStark (talk) 15:00, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- I disagree that they are "general knowledge" and that they belong in an encyclopedia article. There are many leaders on campus and we must employ discretion in deciding which should be included in an encyclopedia article that attempts to summarize the entire history, organization, and culture of this institution. Unless there are extraordinary circumstances, most student leaders simply don't rise to that level of lasting importance. Indeed, most vice presidents, deans, and department chairs don't rise to that level of lasting importance and those persons typically have much more impact than student leaders typically elected by a small fraction of the institution's undergraduate students. Sports school?
So is this mostly a sports school? Shouldn't it say that in the first paragraph? Kendall-K1 (talk) 18:14, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- What is a "sports school" and what makes you believe that this university is one? ElKevbo (talk) 19:36, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- The Notable alums seem to be almost all athletes. I don't know the correct terminology, what do you call a school that trains athletes? Kendall-K1 (talk) 02:43, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
