Avenga (/ɑˈvengɑ/) is a software development and technology consulting company that operates from 31 centers across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Headquartered in Cologne, Germany, the company also has offices in Ukraine, Poland, the US, Malaysia, Argentina, Portugal, and Malta.[1]

History

Avenga's formation resulted from a series of mergers and acquisitions. In 2017, Oaktree Capital Management and Cornerstone Partners, two private equity groups, acquired the Polish outsourcing firm IT Kontrakt.[2] This initial merger was followed by further consolidations in 2018, when IT Kontrakt combined forces with another Polish technology company, Solidbrain.[3]

And in the following year, Ukrainian-American Corevalue became a part of the initiative.[4] Germany's Sevenval also joined this group in 2019.[5] The formal establishment of Avenga took shape in 2019, as IT Kontrakt, Solidbrain, Corevalue, and Sevenval came together to create the company with 2,500 IT experts aboard.[6][7]

Subsequent expansions of Avenga saw the inclusion of Perfectial, a Ukraine-based entity, in 2021,[8] and in 2022, the incorporation of the Argentinian technology firm IncluIT.[9]

Avenga specializes in executing large-scale IT projects and providing support for digital transformation initiatives. They mostly cooperate with partners from the fintech, pharmatech, life sciences, automotive, and insurance industries.[10][11] The company's client list encompasses entities such as Boehringer Ingelheim, Mazda, Deutsche Postbank, Opel, OLO, and Volvo, among others.[2][12]

As of 2023, the organization employs roughly 4,300[13] professionals who work in fields such as software engineering, data analytics, Artificial intelligence, user experience design, and cloud.[1] In 2022, the company onboarded 580 experts in Poland; the aggregate number of employees in the country surpassed 1,700 specialists.[14] Through the acquisition of IncluIT, Avenga integrated 800 new employees from 17 countries in Latin America.[15] Within Ukraine, they rank as the 14th largest technology company, employing nearly 1,300 individuals in the country.[16] In March 2023, Avenga joined Diia City, a governmental initiative designed to promote new regulatory and tax framework provisions for technology companies in Ukraine. The program had the participation of more than 600 organizations in July 2023.[17]
