I think it would be good if these were at least mentioned, it's currently featured in 2022 in science like so:
- Nanoengineers report the development of biocompatible microalgae hybrid microrobots for active drug-delivery in the lungs (22 Sep.) and the gastrointestinal tract (GT) (28 Sep.). The microrobots are related to medical nanobots and proved effective in tests with mice.[1][2][3] A separate team reports the development of 'RoboCap', a robotic drug delivery capsule that enhances drug absorption by tunneling through the mucus layer in the GT (28 Sep.).[4][5]
- A magnetical guidance system with engineered bacterial microbots for 'precision targeting'[6] is demonstrated to be effective for fighting cancer in mice.[7][8]
