Title
"Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru" literally means "the maidens are falling in love with me". However "処女はお姉さまに恋してる (Otome wa onisama ni koishiteru)" does indeed mean "The maidens are falling in love with older sister". Why does the beginning of the article give a different japanese title and translation? Is there perhaps 2 titles? If no one can answer, I'll change it. 82.151.79.252 (talk) 13:33, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- You're right, it should be "...With Me" due to the reading of the furigana on the kanji; changed.--十八 21:14, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Otoboku 2, I think it should be stated on the article. (70.71.121.7 (talk) 02:01, 24 April 2010 (UTC))

Romanization for "戸惑う"
The word "戸惑う" ("Tomadou": written using kana spelling) is pronounced /tomadou/ (トマド\ウ) according to NHK Nihongo hatsuon accent jiten and Shin Meikai nihongo accent jiten. In short, "ou" in the word is not a long vowel /oː/, but two vowels /ou/; therefore I'm sure that "戸惑う" is spelt "tomadou" in Hepburn romanization. --Mujaki (talk) 15:37, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- No, it would be Tomadō, because Hepburn always romanizes "ou" which occur in the same kanji/kanji-kana pair. "Ou/ou" is considered a long "o", same as "oo" in Hepburn.--十八 22:00, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- On what authority do you say that?
- en:Wikipedia
- - The long vowels o and u are indicated by a macron—e.g., long o is written ō.
- - In words of foreign origin, all long vowels are indicated by macrons..
- As stated above, "ou" in the word "戸惑う" is not a long vowel in common Japanese(*).
- de:Wikipedia
- - The combination o + u is written as ou, if it is about an inner word-border or about the phrase-end of determined verbs:.
- In short, the last u of a verb ("う" of "惑う") is always written in Hepburn; therefore, "追う(おう)" is spelt "ou" and "迷う(まよう)" is spelt "mayou" in it.
- BS 4812/1972 Specification for the romanization of Japanese of British Standard
- "思う(おもう)" is spelt "omou" and "問う(とう)" is spelt "tou" in it.
- Incidentally, "子牛(こうし)" that is pronounced /kousi/(コウシ(*)) is spelt "koushi", and "格子(こうし)" that is pronounced /koːsi/ (コーシ(*)) is spelt "kōshi" in it.
- (*):NHK Nihongo hatsuon accent jiten and Shin Meikai nihongo accent jiten
- In a word, I think you are under the wrong impression.--Mujaki (talk) 16:05, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- On what authority do you say that?
In all the time I've edited Wikipedia, I have never seen anyone question whether ou should or should not be ō when it occurs within the same kanji/kanji-kana pair. You can ask WT:MOS-JP if you want a change in convention, but this has been discussed many times in the past; see this most-recent post, or this one not long before that, both of which touched on "ou" being romanized as ō.--十八 23:53, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
How many Sub episodes ?
Hello, I currently translate this article into the french version. I dont understand why there mention "ten additional sub episodes and a special sub episode" and there are eleven sub episodes and a special episode in the array "Sub episodes". Is there a error ? This passage should be verified (if there are an error, to correct or if it's correct, explain better).
In any case, it's a good article, felicitation to the authors.
Cordially, --Gratus (talk) 08:23, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- There are 10 sub episodes numberd I to XI, with IX missing, plus one other special episode. The Japanese wiki page mentions this: "Episode IXは欠番(後述のゲーム版ドラマCDが発売前の告知でIXとされていた)。" which is roughly "Episode IX is missing (Before the sale of the aforementioned game edition drama CD, it was labeled as IX in an advertisement)." Further down in the article, it further elaborates: "発売前の告知ではAppendix-IXと銘打たれていたが、商品CDのジャケット等にそのような記述は存在しない" which is "Before it was sold, it was labeled as Appendix-IX in an advertisement, but that doesn't appear on the CD's jacket."--十八 08:52, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

deputy head teacher
Hello, in the article, there is "The headmistress, the deputy head teacher (visual novel only), Mizuho's homeroom teacher Hisako Kajiura and Mariya Mikado initially know his secret;".
But I dont see who is this deputy head teacher in the visual novel. Indeed vndb dont list any characters with the deputy head teacher tag or description. The only mentions that I found come from... Wikipedia.
In the Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru (visual novel), there are only the headmistress, Mizuho's homeroom teacher Hisako Kajiura and Mariya Mikado who are in the secret. In dont know if there is a confusion with the sequel Elder.
Cordially,--Gratus (talk) 15:53, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
- It looks like it was added with this edit, where it says this character is referred to in the original game, but I guess not shown. Although I guess "vice-headmistress" would be a more accurate translation. It looks like the Japanese wiki mentions this character too in Hisako's description on ja:処女はお姉さまに恋してるの登場人物#サブキャラクター: 学院長、教頭と共に瑞穂が男性であることを知っている学校関係者の一人。 (roughly: "Together with the headmistress and vice-headmistress, she is one of the school staff who knows that Mizuho is male.). However, that's the only place I could find a mention of this character on that wiki. --十八 19:41, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
