Gaurav Burman[1] (born January 16, 1972) is an Indian-origin businessman, investor[2], and a fifth-generation scion of the Burman family, known for their founding role in Dabur, one of India's largest Ayurvedic and FMCG companies. He is actively involved in managing the family's investment program[3].
Early Life and Education
Gaurav Burman graduated from Tufts University, Massachusetts, United States in 1993 with a dual BA in Economics and History. He began his career in the Business Development Group at Dabur India Limited.
Career
In 1997, Gaurav joined the private equity arm of Kleinwort Benson, a global private equity firm, before relocating to New York to work with Dresdner's Global Private Equity Group. He played a role in forming new private equity products within Dresdner and launched ventures. He also raised and was the President and Secretary of Atlas Acquisition, a US$200 million SPAC[4].
Burman Family Holdings
Gaurav Burman and his family have a tradition of entrepreneurship and investment. They have formed joint ventures and partnerships with global MNCs across various sectors. The family has invested over US$500 million in diverse businesses[5], including healthcare[6][7], financial services, retail, and hospitality.

Personal Life
Gaurav Burman is married to Karima Burman, step-daughter of Lalit Modi, and has two children. He is the younger brother of Dabur chairman, Mohit Burman. He resides in London with his family and is involved in sports, including motorsports, sailing, tennis, and running. He is engaged in charitable endeavours, serving on the advisory boards of Sesame Street and the Nature Conservancy, among others. Gaurav is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization(YPO).
