- Dylan Riley (Japan) was named in the starting line-up, but withdrew during the warm-up due to injury. He was replaced by Samisoni Tua, whose place on the bench was taken by Takuya Yamasawa.
- Tiennan Costley, Shinobu Fujiwara, Mamoru Harada, Takayoshi Mohara, Keijiro Tamefusa, Samisoni Tua, Kai Yamamoto, Yoshitaka Yazaki (all Japan) and Tom Roebuck (England) made their international debuts.[3]
