Bella Maclean (born 2000) is a British-American stage and screen actress.

Career

Stage

She made her debut at the Royal National Theatre in 2024 appearing in London Tide as Bella Wilfer in the adaptation of Charles Dickens 19th-century novel Our Mutual Friend.[2][3] She previously appeared in an adaptation of Spring Awakening at the Almeida Theatre.[4][5]

Film & television

Her television appearances include BBC One series Silent Witness and as Jem on Sex Education on Netflix.[6] She also appeared in the short films Dragged Up and La La Means I Love You.[1]

In 2024, she appeared as Taggie O'Hara in Disney+ adaptation of Jilly Cooper's Rivals.[7][8][9] Her scenes with Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell) were described as "engagingly complex".[10]

Personal life

She has lived in New York and East Sussex. She has twin sisters.[3] She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.[4] She has dual British-American nationality.[1]
